About the Role: As a Registrar in Critical Care, you will provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill patients in the ICU, ensuring optimal outcomes through effective management and intervention.
What You'll Be Doing: - Provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including initial evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute and complex medical conditions. - Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures and tests, such as arterial blood gas analysis, central venous catheter insertion, intubation, mechanical ventilation management, and hemodynamic monitoring. - Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patients' medical history, clinical findings, and response to therapy. - Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes and prevent complications. - Respond promptly to changes in patients' clinical status and provide timely interventions to stabilize and support vital functions. - Participate in medical emergencies and resuscitation efforts, including advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and other critical care procedures, as needed. - Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, providing clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis. - Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies. - Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery and promote evidence-based practice. - Engage in continuing medical education and professional development activities to stay abreast of advances in critical care medicine and maintain clinical competence.
