About the Role: As a Consultant Neurologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating various neurological disorders, ensuring the highest quality of patient care.
What You'll Be Doing: - Conduct thorough neurological assessments, including detailed patient history, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests. - Diagnose and treat various neurological disorders such as epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and neurodegenerative diseases. - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on diagnoses, including prescription and management of medications and therapeutic interventions. - Educate patients and their families on treatment options, expected outcomes, and potential side effects. - Perform and interpret specialized procedures, such as lumbar punctures, electromyography (EMG), and nerve conduction studies. - Collaborate with radiologists for the interpretation of neuroimaging studies (MRI, CT scans, etc.). - Communicate effectively with patients, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis in a clear and compassionate manner. - Collaborate with primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists. - Participate in patient rounds, case conferences, and discussions to optimize patient care. - Provide clinical leadership in the diagnosis and management of complex neurological cases. - Supervise and guide junior medical staff and healthcare professionals.
