About the Role: As a Consultant in Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in assessing and treating patients with mental health conditions.
What You'll Be Doing: - Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including comprehensive psychiatric histories and mental status examinations. - Accurately diagnose a wide range of mental health conditions based on established diagnostic criteria. - Develop evidence-based treatment plans that may include psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions. - Collaborate with patients to establish individualized treatment goals. - Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring for efficacy, side effects, and potential interactions. - Educate patients about medication regimens, benefits, and risks. - Provide psychotherapy services using various modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). - Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions. - Assess and manage psychiatric crises, including suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and acute psychotic episodes. - Develop crisis intervention plans and collaborate with emergency services when needed.
