About the Role: As a Consultant Gastroenterologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with gastrointestinal disorders, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.
What You'll Be Doing: - Assess patients' medical histories, symptoms, and physical conditions related to gastrointestinal disorders. - Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as endoscopy (upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy), biopsy, and imaging studies (CT scan, MRI) to diagnose GI conditions. - Develop and implement treatment plans based on diagnosis, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and surgical interventions. - Provide ongoing management and follow-up care for patients with chronic GI conditions, monitoring treatment efficacy and adjusting plans as necessary. - Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and nutritionists, to ensure comprehensive patient management. - Educate patients and their families about gastrointestinal diseases, treatment options, and preventive measures. - Participate in clinical research, contribute to medical literature, and educate medical students, residents, and healthcare professionals on gastroenterology topics.
