About the Role: As a Registrar in General Surgery, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive surgical care to patients. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes and enhance the surgical team's effectiveness.
What You'll Be Doing: - Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with surgical conditions, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic investigations. - Review laboratory results, imaging studies (e.g., X-rays, CT scans, MRIs), and other diagnostic tests to formulate treatment plans. - Develop and implement appropriate treatment strategies in collaboration with senior surgeons. - Assist senior surgeons in various general surgical procedures, including appendectomies, hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, and other elective or emergency surgeries. - Perform minor surgical procedures independently, such as wound debridement, drain placements, and suturing under supervision. - Ensure sterile techniques are maintained during surgeries and assist in managing surgical instruments and equipment. - Conduct preoperative assessments, including obtaining informed consent, and preparing patients for surgery. - Monitor patients in the postoperative period, managing pain, wound care, and potential complications. - Provide postoperative instructions and follow-up care, including suture removal, wound dressing changes, and assessing recovery progress.
