About the Role: As a Neurologist at Sunrise Hospital, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with neurological disorders, making a significant impact on their quality of life.
What You'll Be Doing: - Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients presenting with neurological symptoms such as headaches, seizures, weakness, numbness, or cognitive changes. - Conduct detailed medical histories and physical neurological examinations, including assessing motor function, sensory function, reflexes, and cognitive abilities. - Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including brain imaging (CT scans, MRIs), electroencephalograms (EEGs), lumbar punctures, and nerve conduction studies. - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for a range of neurological disorders, such as stroke, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. - Prescribe and manage medications, including anticonvulsants, antiparkinsonian agents, and other relevant drugs. - Provide non-pharmacological treatments, such as physical therapy recommendations or lifestyle modifications. - Respond to acute neurological emergencies, such as strokes, seizures, or sudden onset of neurological symptoms. - Provide immediate intervention to stabilize patients and prevent further neurological damage.
