Your Core Responsibilities: - Diagnose and treat disorders and diseases of the digestive system, including the stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. - Perform surgeries such as resections, bypasses, and other procedures to treat conditions like colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and gallstones. - Evaluate patient medical histories, conduct physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests, such as endoscopies and imaging, to determine the need for surgery. - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient condition, ensuring informed consent and addressing any patient concerns. - Collaborate with gastroenterologists, radiologists, oncologists, and other specialists to deliver comprehensive patient care. - Monitor and manage post-operative recovery, including pain management, infection prevention, and nutritional support. - Educate patients on pre-and post-operative care, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle changes to promote long-term health. - Perform minimally invasive surgical procedures using laparoscopy or robotic-assisted surgery when appropriate. - Maintain detailed medical records, documenting patient history, surgical procedures, and recovery progress.
