About the Role: As a Surgery Physician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing patient care and supporting surgical teams.
What You'll Be Doing: - Conduct preoperative evaluations, including medical histories, physical exams, and necessary diagnostic tests. - Review imaging studies, laboratory results, and patient medical histories to assist in surgical planning. - Educate patients about the surgery, what to expect, and preoperative instructions, including fasting, medication adjustments, and consent forms. - Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, positioning patients, and ensuring the availability of necessary surgical instruments and supplies. - Perform tasks such as suturing, stapling, tissue manipulation, and helping with instrumentation during surgery under the supervision of the lead surgeon. - Take part in the implementation of surgical techniques, assisting in various types of surgeries, such as general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, or others as required. - Provide ongoing care for surgical patients in the hospital, including assessing vitals, performing physical exams, and checking for complications such as infection, bleeding, or organ dysfunction. - Follow up on lab results and imaging tests to track patient progress post-surgery and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
