About the Role: As a Transfusion Medicine Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and effective blood transfusion practices that directly impact patient care.
What You'll Be Doing: - Supervise and manage blood donation, processing, storage, and distribution of blood and blood products. - Ensure safe and appropriate transfusion practices, including compatibility testing and adverse reaction management. - Conduct immunohematology testing, including blood typing, crossmatching, and antibody screening. - Oversee apheresis procedures for therapeutic and donor purposes. - Implement and monitor quality assurance programs for blood banks and transfusion services. - Develop protocols for blood transfusion management in surgical, trauma, oncology, and critical care patients. - Collaborate with hematologists, oncologists, surgeons, and intensive care teams for transfusion-related decisions.
