About the Role: As an MD Pathologist, you will oversee the technical operations of laboratory sections, ensuring compliance with established protocols and quality control.
What You'll Be Doing: - Oversee the technical operations of the laboratory sections to ensure smooth functioning. - Ensure processes in each department are well-executed and comply with established protocols. - Check and maintain quality control in all assigned departments. - Verify results and sign off on final test reports across various disciplines, including Hematology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, and Serology. - Request reruns of tests if discrepancies are noticed or to cross-verify results. - Monitor turnaround times to ensure timely delivery of reports. - Conduct training sessions for lab staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. - Assess the competency of lab staff and identify training needs. - Identify and take corrective actions on non-conformities observed in daily activities. - Provide advice on the choice of tests, the use of laboratory services, and the interpretation of laboratory data. - Define, implement, and monitor standards of performance and quality management systems. - Ensure that sufficient qualified personnel with adequate training and experience are available to meet laboratory needs. - Approve and specify all test methods to be used in the laboratory. - Follow the code of professional ethics and implement good laboratory practices. - Assign competent personnel to conduct tests and ensure accurate results.
