The Centre has approved ₹69.35 crore for the development of healthcare institutions in Kerala under the National Health Mission for the 2024-25 period. This funding aims to improve the infrastructure of 29 healthcare institutions across the state.
- Key Projects Funded:
- ₹6.16 crore for a 50-bed mother and childcare center at Kanjirappally General Hospital, Kottayam.
- ₹4.70 crore each for constructing warehouses in Kollam and Kozhikode.
- ₹4.5 crore for new OP and IP blocks at Tata Hospital, Kasaragod.
- ₹3.33 crore for a skill lab and training center in Malappuram.
- ₹3.87 crore for renovating the OP block and casualty at Palluruthy Taluk Hospital.
- Other Significant Allocations:
- ₹3 crore to strengthen the diagnostic block at Pathanamthitta General Hospital.
- ₹3 crore to enhance the gynaecology department at Idukki District Hospital.
- ₹1.70 crore for staff quarters at Edamalakudy in Idukki.
- ₹1.50 crore for the paediatric ward at Perinthalmanna District Hospital, Malappuram.
- ₹2.10 crore for the casualty block at Pazhayangadi Hospital, Kannur.
